Warp's Lorenzo Senni announces the sure to be a collector's item vinyl release of his collaboration with Francesco Fantini for the original soundtrack for The Challenge.

The Challenge contains a high octane mix of Lorenzo's trademark trance riffs, yet instead of drawing out the shape of trance to come with his trusty JP-8000 Supersaw patterns, The Challenge see's Lorenzo and Francesco recording with a full orchestra for the very first time.

As uplifting and joyous as Persona, yet carrying with it an underlying feeling of melancholic depth that its clear has been reached by the film of which it soundtracks subject matter.

Curated by @mauriziocattelan, the show explores how originality can be reached through the act of repetition, and how originals themselves can be preserved through copies. It consists in a physical immersion in the reign of imitation, a land where the core values that used to identify with an artwork in the Western world, such as originality, intention, expression, and authorship, are dismantled. Falconry has a history that stretches back over 40 centuries. In the West it was a prevailing passion of the medieval aristocracy, but its prestige continues undiminished in contemporary Arab culture. Three years of observing this form of hunting in the field have made it possible to capture the spirit of a tradition that today allows its practitioners to keep a close rapport with the desert, despite their predominantly urban lifestyle. Our guide to how they cross that threshold is a falconer taking his birds to compete in a tournament in Qatar. In the glaring light of an empty landscape, following flight lines and lures, the film recounts a strange kind of “desert weekend”, in which technological and anthropological microcosms hang in the air, like the falcon, drifting on the irreversible currents of images.
